A note on timing: the original report published on October 11 (more than 48 hours ago); this is a roundup.
Blizzard's promise that Season of Discovery class quests would return in Forever now has hard proof: the Paladin Divine Storm rune quest chain is live on the Beta, and completing it rewards a Paladin-exclusive cloak — Cloak of the Divine Storm.
The chain at a glance (starts in Darkshore):
- In northern Darkshore, climb the Tower of Althalaxx and loot the Strange Orb (~56.2, 26.5) to start A Strange Artifact;
- Hand the Althalaxx Orb to Delgren the Purifier in Ashenvale (~26.2, 38.6);
- Follow the send-off to Katherine the Pure in Stormwind (~37.8, 31.6) for A Second Opinion;
- The chain then guides you toward a hidden sect — see it through to claim the cloak.
Two things to note: first, this confirms the "SoD class quests return" promise is real — expect equivalents for other classes; second, the chain is currently Alliance-only — the Horde version is missing, and whether and how Blizzard fills that gap is worth watching for Horde paladins.
For paladins: Alliance players can slot this into their Darkshore/Ashenvale leveling route and grab the cloak on the way; Horde players should wait for the counterpart. Leveling route in the leveling guide, class context on the class changes page, and the paladin big picture in our paladin three-era comparison.
