The Trapper's Workbench is associated with Skinning. Its English description says it places a workbench containing one trap and provides all the benefits of a Camp Chair. It requires a campfire and can replace a Camp Chair.〔1〕

Why it is worth watching

For skinners, the trap is the part of this record that raises the most questions. However, a trap can involve different forms of interaction; Hunter trap rules for crowd control, damage and eligible targets must not be assumed. Whether it is a capture tool or serves another purpose needs to be investigated through the actual item supplied and its targeting rules.〔2〕

Conditions supported by the current data

  • Profession: Skinning
  • Item usage requirement: Skinning 300

These item usage conditions are not recipe learning requirements. The learning route still needs to be checked.〔3〕

What to test next

  • Which trap item does the workbench actually provide?
  • Is the trap used for capture, combat or another interaction, and which targets are eligible?
  • How many traps can be claimed, what usage restrictions apply and how is the workbench shared?

These are targets for the next round of testing, not confirmed acquisition or usage rules.〔2〕
